Period Operations Report

Full instructions and common questions

Period Operations Report

Confirm dates, metrics and grouping rules, compare reporting periods, inspect changes and exceptions, and export traceable HTML, CSV or Excel operations reports.

How to use

  1. Import CSV, TSV, JSON or XLSX, or load the fictional example. Choose a worksheet and date, group and numeric fields. Use YYYY-MM-DD dates.
  2. Choose nonoverlapping reporting and baseline periods, then sum values or count records. You can fill the preceding equal-length period. Confirm unequal lengths and excluded exceptions.
  3. Review totals, group changes, record counts and exceptions, then add business notes you have verified.
  4. Export the report and details, and save a confirmed snapshot or calculation template for reuse.

Try an example

The example totals 300 in the baseline and 450 in the reporting period: a 150 difference and 50% change. Email remains 200 → 200; community changes 100 → 250. Source rows substantiate the figures.

Limits and privacy

Up to 20 MB, 100,000 input rows, 2 million cells and 1,000 groups. Missing or invalid values are not silently treated as zero. Rates are not applicable for missing records or a zero or negative baseline. Snapshots retain aggregates and rules, without source files; reimport data to recalculate.

Common questions

Does it explain why results changed?

No. It calculates changes and retains evidence. You supply and verify the business explanation.

Why is a change rate missing?

Missing records and zero or negative baselines make percentages misleading. The report shows counts, absolute differences and the reason instead.
