Image workflow: steps and common questions

Convert formats, compress, crop an area of the original and package images as ZIP in one browser workspace. Backgrounds are preserved by default; removal is optional. Image operations run locally.

  1. Upload images and check their original dimensions and current batch settings. Visible cards generate previews.
  2. Open batch settings to choose JPEG, PNG or WebP, dimensions, quality and an optional KB target, then apply them. For one image, open Adjust this image on its card.
  3. Choose Crop on an image card, select an area of the original and apply it. Keep Preserve original background when you only need cropping.
  4. Preview and check detail, background, dimensions and actual bytes. Download an image or use Prepare & download ZIP or Download ZIP.

100 MB and 16 million pixels per source; outputs up to 16 million pixels and 16384 pixels per edge. HEIC decoding loads on demand. Animated sources export one still frame. KB targets are not guaranteed and source metadata is not retained.

Does cropping remove the background?

No. Select an area of the original image; cropping keeps that area. Backgrounds are preserved by default. Auto removal estimates a background from edge colors and is a separate option. The studio remembers batch settings, so check them before importing.

Why is my JPEG background not transparent?

JPEG has no alpha channel. Preserve original background fills transparent areas with white. Auto removal uses the selected replacement color, falling back to white when that setting is transparent. Choose PNG or WebP to retain transparency.

Are HEIC and HEIF supported?

A browser decoder loads on demand, requiring a component download on first use. Only the first decoded image from a multi-image container is used. Some encodings can fail; keep the original and check orientation and colors.

Are animated GIF and WebP frames preserved?

Ordinary conversion and cropping export one still frame and do not preserve the source animation. GIF Maker animates a still photo; it does not restore every frame of the original animation.

Does a cropped export retain EXIF or GPS?

Canvas re-encoding does not copy embedded source metadata such as EXIF or GPS. The original file is unchanged. Check visible text, watermarks and personal information in the picture separately.

Will the output always meet my KB target?

No. JPEG and WebP try lower quality; PNG does not use quality compression. Check actual output bytes and reduce dimensions manually if needed. Visible cards generate previews after import; batch conversion and download processes the remaining images.

Free use and requirements

Use this tool for free without a KitNelo account. Processing runs in your browser; input limits, browser support and device memory still apply.

Some effects load extra browser resources. Check exported dimensions, transparency and appearance before using the images.

Batch Edit Images Online for Free

Choose a set of images and apply the supported editing operations in one browser workspace. Preview the results before exporting, since a shared setting can affect differently sized originals in different ways and some effects load extra resources.

Convert and Compress Image Batches for Free

Select the output format and compression settings for your image batch, then inspect the generated files. Compare file size with visual quality and check whether the selected format preserves the transparency required by your destination.

Crop, Resize and Watermark Photos for Free

Set the crop, output dimensions and watermark details for the selected photos, then review their appearance. Check that subjects remain visible, proportions are correct and watermark placement works across the batch before downloading the edited files.

Prepare photo batches for Amazon seller workflows for free

Convert and crop your original product photos in the studio, preserving the existing background unless removal is enabled. Inspect one export before making a ZIP. Continue to the Amazon main image tool for its white-padding layout and check the current category requirements before uploading.

Remove image backgrounds for free

Select background removal and adjust tolerance and feathering against a contrasting preview. This operation estimates the background from edge colors; inspect similar-colored subject areas and preserve an original before exporting the cutout.

Change photo background colors for free

After separating the subject, choose a replacement background color and inspect hair, transparent areas and edge contrast. Export a new image and check that the selected format preserves the intended background.

Add text or logo watermarks online for free

Choose the watermark operation, enter text or add a logo, then adjust its placement and opacity. Preview the mark on both bright and dark areas so it remains readable without hiding important image details.

Rotate and flip photos for free

Open the rotation controls to correct orientation or mirror a photo. Check text, logos and the final width and height before saving; a mirrored image can reverse readable information even when the composition looks correct.

Animate a still photo as a GIF for free

Choose the portrait GIF operation and preview the available motion effect on your photo. Check the complete loop and exported dimensions before downloading; this creates a visual animation rather than recording real movement.

Batch rename image exports for free

Prepare a group of images and choose the batch naming settings. Preview the naming sequence and retain a way to match outputs to originals, especially when similar filenames or repeated uploads could cause confusion.
