Image Metadata Cleaner

Full instructions and common questions

Image Metadata Cleaner

Re-encode images to remove common EXIF, GPS, camera, capture-time, and embedded metadata. Originals are unchanged and processing stays in your browser.

How to use

  1. Choose one or more JPG, PNG, or WebP images.
  2. Check dimensions and file sizes, then re-encode to remove metadata.
  3. Download one result or package all cleaned images into a ZIP.

Try an example

Upload a JPEG with camera details, download the cleaned file, then inspect it with your local file properties tool. Pixel dimensions stay the same.

Limits and privacy

Up to 80 MB and 40 million pixels per image. JPG, PNG, and WebP only; animated GIFs are not preserved. Re-encoding can change file size and pixel encoding, so keep a backup of the original.

Common questions

Does this remove visible text from the image?

No. It re-encodes the image and clears metadata; visible text and marks remain.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Decoding, re-encoding, and ZIP packaging happen in your browser.
