Image Resize

Resize image width and height free online, preserve proportions when needed and process photo batches. Preview dimensions and avoid stretching or expecting lost detail to return.

How to use

  1. Upload an image or try the sample and check its original dimensions.
  2. With aspect ratio locked, change one dimension. Unlock to set both dimensions independently, which can stretch the image.
  3. Choose a format, process the image and inspect the preview before downloading.

Try an example

The sample is 1200 × 800 pixels. Keep the aspect ratio and set width to 600. Height becomes 400 and the exported image is 600 × 400 pixels.

Limits and privacy

Inputs up to 30 MB and outputs up to 40 million pixels. Enlarging cannot restore detail missing from the original. JPEG does not preserve transparency.

Common questions

How can I avoid stretching?

Keep aspect ratio enabled. To change the composition, crop first and resize afterwards.

Does editing dimensions download immediately?

No. Process and preview first, then download when satisfied.

Free use and requirements

Use this tool for free without a KitNelo account. Processing runs in your browser; input limits, browser support and device memory still apply.

Enlarging a low-resolution photo cannot restore missing detail. Independent width and height changes can distort proportions.

Free online functions: steps and checks

Resize Image Width and Height for Free

Choose an image and enter the output width and height required by your destination. Check the resulting dimensions and preview before downloading; changing both values independently can alter the original proportions and visibly stretch the subject.

Resize a Photo Without Stretching for Free

Keep the original proportions while selecting the new photo dimensions, then review the preview for distortion. Enlarging a small source can produce a bigger file but cannot restore missing detail, so inspect sharpness at the intended display size.

Resize an Image Batch for Free

Add the photos that need new dimensions and apply the available batch resize settings. Review the exported sizes and proportions for each original, particularly when the batch mixes portrait and landscape images with different starting dimensions.
