Field Dictionary

Define canonical columns, aliases, types and units for free. Validate required fields, dates, decimals and enums, then export a reviewed standardized table.

How to use

  1. Edit or import the dictionary JSON and confirm aliases, units, types and required fields.
  2. Import one sheet and inspect validation issues and unmapped columns.
  3. Fix source issues, then download canonical CSV and continue cleaning, reporting or template filling.

Try an example

Date, ID and amount aliases map to date, id and amount. Leading zeros and long decimal spellings stay intact.

Limits and privacy

200 KB dictionary, 100 fields; 100,000 rows, 300 columns and 2 million cells. Exports contain dictionary fields only; no formula calculation or unit conversion.

Common questions

Are long IDs converted to numbers?

No. Validation preserves original text.

Free use and requirements

Use the local functions for free without a KitNelo account. Optional Gemini generation sends the supplied text to Google and requires a configured server API key; provider fees and quotas can apply.

Review aliases and units yourself; matching a column name does not convert its business meaning.

Standardize Spreadsheet Column Names for Free

Define canonical field names and aliases, then map incoming spreadsheet headers to the dictionary. Review ambiguous aliases and source units before export; a matching column name does not establish that two fields share the same business meaning.

Validate Required Table Fields for Free

Assign required-value, date, decimal and enum rules to inspect table records before export. Review the flagged cells against their source values and intended locale, because a valid-looking date or number may still represent the wrong business value.

Create a Data Dictionary for Free

Record canonical names, accepted aliases, data types and units as a reusable description of your table. Check each definition with the source owner before using it for mappings, especially when similar labels describe different measures or currencies.
