From knowing to doing

A clear path to your first result

01
Prepare these firstEnvironment, account and materials
  • Access to an assistant supporting SKILL.md. The upstream README documents Claude Code and Codex installation; this site does not connect to or run your assistant.
  • Prepare the source, target language, domain, and established translations. Put approved brand names, personal names, and abbreviations in your glossary.
  • Long-text chunking scripts need Bun or Bun through npx. Runtime dependencies and model access are not included in the source package.
02
Follow the setup stepsUse the guide for this specific resource
  1. 1
Download the indexed package and retain the complete baoyu-translate folder. For a Codex project, place it under .agents/skills/; configure other assistants following the upstream README.
  2. 2
On first use, follow the upstream setup for target language, mode, audience, and style. Project preferences are saved in .baoyu-skills/baoyu-translate/EXTEND.md.
  3. 3
Create a glossary using references/config/extend-schema.md. Supply --glossary my-terms.md or configure glossary / glossary_files in EXTEND.md, including brands and abbreviations that must remain unchanged.
  4. 4
Submit the source in normal or refined mode. For long documents, extract proper nouns, technical terms, and recurring phrases first, then share the glossary across sections.
  5. 5
Review names, numbers, units, and original-term annotations in translation.md. Refined mode also produces analysis, critique, and revision files. Independently verify uncertain official translations.
03
Adapt a real task exampleA starter prompt for the compatible app

$baoyu-translate Translate article.md into Chinese in refined mode using my-terms.md. Keep OpenAI unchanged and consistently translate Context Engineering as 上下文工程. Check proper nouns and technical terms first, retain original terms at first mention, and review consistency.

Paste this task in the resource’s compatible app or host after setup. Replace the context with your own material, then check the result.

Limits & permissions

  • This third-party general translation skill includes terminology and proper-noun workflows. It is not an authoritative names, trademarks, or standards database and cannot guarantee official translations.
  • The built-in glossary covers selected English-to-Chinese AI and technical terms. Supply glossaries for other domains and language pairs; reference renderings are not universal standards.
  • Source, licensing, and file completeness were checked; translation quality and assistant runtime compatibility were not tested with a model. Source privacy depends on your assistant configuration.
