Stitch screenshots into a long PNG without repeated lines

Screenshots can look complete separately while repeating a sentence or losing a paragraph when joined. This guide focuses on delivering a readable continuous image: prepare the inputs, then read across every seam. A tidy thumbnail cannot establish that the conversation or instructions are complete.

Quick answer

KitNelo stacks images vertically in the order received, retains their dimensions, centers them and exports PNG. It does not detect overlapping scroll captures or equalize widths. Remove repeated content in working copies, then verify sequence and seams in the downloaded file.

Choose a continuous image or separate pages

Conversation excerpts and short procedures can work as a long image. For printing, page references or reviewing sections separately, follow the images-to-PDF preparation guide instead. Avoid forcing a large document into one image simply because the recipient accepts pictures.

Keep the originals. Hide names, account details and notifications in working copies. Label them 01, 02 and 03 for your intended reading order, and record widths and boundary text. Names help you review the sequence; they do not guarantee the order returned by a file picker. Capture from the same window width and zoom level where possible.

Resolve repeated content before stitching

  1. 1Compare each neighboring pair. Find matching headings, sentences or controls and mark overlapping content rather than guessing from background colors.
  2. 2Remove a repeated region from only one working copy. Preserve complete text lines and enough context; do not cut a line halfway through.
  3. 3When there is no shared text, check that no paragraph is missing between captures. Retake missing material: stitching cannot restore it.
  4. 4Compare widths. Consult the pixel size and aspect-ratio guide before resizing copies. Check small text afterwards and avoid stretching letters merely to align edges.

These are manual preparation recommendations. This tool has no automatic overlap removal, intelligent scrolling capture or drag-to-reorder editor.

Generate a PNG in your browser

Open the image stitching tool and choose prepared PNG, JPEG, WebP or AVIF images that your browser can decode. It generates a preview after selection. Inspect the beginning, ending and each join, then download result.png. If the order is wrong, reselect a smaller group or use an editor that explicitly supports rearranging inputs.

The current implementation uses the widest input as the canvas width and centers narrower images. The total height is the sum of input heights, so unequal widths can leave side margins. MDN's canvas drawing documentation describes drawing at original dimensions or with scaling parameters; this tool's particular width policy comes from its implementation.

Accept the downloaded file using a seam checklist

  • Order: read from the first capture to the last. Each step should appear exactly once.
  • Continuity: inspect every join at the intended viewing size for repeated lines, missing words, cut lines and omitted paragraphs.
  • Legibility: check small text and thin lines at original pixel size, then in the actual messaging app or page where the image will be viewed.
  • Canvas: inspect dimensions and transparent margins. A scaled preview may conceal blank areas in the export.
  • Delivery: reopen the downloaded PNG independently. Verify the bottom is complete and private notifications are absent.

A manually calculated example: 400×300 and 400×200 inputs produce a 400×500 canvas. If the second input is only 320 pixels wide, centering leaves 40 pixels on each side. This does not demonstrate automatic cropping.

Handle very long images and export failures

A long image requires a canvas and image encoding in browser memory. Memory and maximum canvas dimensions vary by device. There is no universal input-count guarantee, and a phone cannot be assumed to handle an arbitrarily long image. Begin with two or three working copies. If the output is blank or cannot be saved, reduce the batch and keep the originals.

Image content is processed in the current browser. Sharing the result through messaging, cloud storage or another website changes who can access it. Some destinations resize images and make small text unreadable. Split the content into sections or deliver a paginated PDF, then check the receiving environment again.

Common questions

Does stitching automatically remove overlapping text?

No. Compare adjacent captures and crop repeated regions in copies without losing lines. The tool only stacks the images vertically.

Why are there margins beside some screenshots?

Narrower inputs are centered on a canvas as wide as the widest image. Check input widths; if you normalize copies, verify that small text remains readable.

Do filenames such as 01 and 02 guarantee the output order?

No. The file picker's returned order influences the output. Verify the preview and downloaded image segment by segment, then reselect or use an editor with explicit reordering if needed.
