Keep file positions and printed body numbers together

mapping-four.pdf contains a cover, contents and body pages 1 and 2. Add file-navigation numbers while retaining the original printed body labels.

1. Import it in PDF watermark & numbers. Clear the default CONFIDENTIAL text and leave Include page numbers selected.

2. Process and save watermarked.pdf. Inspect all four new footer numbers and the existing body labels.

3. Record the first body citation as physical page 3 / added 3 / 4 / printed 1, together with the source version.

The added sequence is 1 / 4, 2 / 4, 3 / 4, 4 / 4. BODY-1 still displays printed 1 and BODY-2 printed 2. An unexplained citation to page 1 is ambiguous.

Leaving the default text adds a watermark too; the filename does not reveal that setting. Clear and rerun for numbers alone. If a footer obscures original content, stop delivery and choose a placement-adjustable route.
