Create social image variants with Firefly AI Assistant: check framing and credits

A product image needs square and portrait versions. AI can help plan the edits, but “make a social campaign” leaves too much unspecified. Define one ratio and the content that must remain unchanged, then review each export. This is an editorial workflow based on official documentation, not a claim that we generated assets in your account.

Quick answer

Handle one target version at a time: review the plan, inspect framing and text, then check actual pixel dimensions and action credits. Firefly AI Assistant remains beta. A request, successful generation or planned size does not validate the deliverable.

Check recent rules and the actual entry point

The Adobe FAQ, updated September 24, 2026, describes the October 1 Creative Cloud expansion and credit use for certain paid-plan actions. The beta is for adults; free access covers selected accounts and regions. The assistant is unavailable in Adobe desktop and mobile apps. Chinese is not among its optimized languages.

Those are the documented dates, not an October 9 launch. Check your access in Firefly on the web. Enterprise, education and legacy plans can have additional restrictions; consult the FAQ and account status. Do not upgrade solely to follow this exercise or assume identical allowances across accounts.

Prepare the original and preservation rules

Use an authorized, non-sensitive image and keep the original. List what must remain unchanged: product shape, existing trademarks, color and important labels. Check the destination’s current ratio and pixel requirements rather than treating our example as a platform specification.

Our exercise starts with one 1:1 preview, then considers 4:5. Preserve the subject, add no people and leave existing labels unchanged. If the source has a different ratio, decide whether cropping, margins or generative extension is acceptable. Those operations produce different kinds of changes.

Review the plan, one version and its result

The Adobe workflow overview describes goal setting, planning, generation, editing and feedback. Correct the direction when a suggestion is unsuitable. A sensible plan does not establish accurate execution.

  1. 1State the source and target: “Use this authorized image. Make one square preview. Keep the product and existing label unchanged. Explain whether you will crop or extend before proceeding.” This is our example, not an official template.
  2. 2Read the proposed actions. If they would crop the subject or redraw text, request an adjustment. Clarify preservation requirements before executing one version.
  3. 3Download that version and compare edges, proportions, text and shadows with the original. Request the next ratio only after approval, so you can trace where an unwanted change appeared.
  4. 4After each action, inspect the displayed credit usage and record the action and output. Usage varies by action. A number pictured in a help example is not a fixed price, and failed attempts or retries should not be assumed free.

Check pixels and content as well as ratio

A square composition establishes a ratio, not resolution, text legibility or rights clearance. Open the actual export and inspect pixel dimensions, cut-off edges, rewritten labels and unexpected objects. Use the upload dimension and aspect-ratio checks to confirm recipient requirements.

If the project also includes video, a single-frame image review is insufficient. The Firefly video background review discusses checks across a sequence. For this image task, keep the original, proposed plan, exported version and issue notes together rather than saving only the conversation.

Manage the budget and information boundaries

Credit rules and beta capabilities can change. Set an acceptable attempt budget for one version and inspect actual consumption before continuing. Repeated generation is an expensive way to compensate for unclear instructions. Missing access or depleted allowances must be handled according to the account; this guide cannot guarantee availability for every user.

Firefly is an external service. Check material rights and organization rules before uploading; the site’s browser-processing statements do not apply to Adobe. The assistant may choose different models, so do not treat all outputs as automatically cleared for commercial use. Brand, people and third-party material still need relevant rights checks before delivery.

Common questions

Can Chinese prompts be guaranteed as reliable as English?

No. The current FAQ does not list Chinese as an optimized language. Use clear instructions and inspect results individually; language choice itself cannot guarantee quality.

Does a square result meet the publication requirement?

Check actual pixels, text, subject completeness and the destination’s rules as well. Square describes proportions, not sufficient resolution or unchanged source content.

How many credits does every generation cost?

This guide gives no fixed number. Official documentation says use varies by action and can be inspected after completion. Check your current account rules and record actual usage before planning more attempts.
